The stages, stores, lofts and buildings associated with the inshore fishery are part of what gives rural Newfoundland and Labrador its characteristic look and feel. Through the Fisheries Heritage Preservation Program, the Heritage Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador has been working with fishermen, property owners, families, and communities to help conserve some of these important historic buildings.
